Having heard the news, Obama calls Kanye West a 'Jackass'

Is Kanye West that great? Kris Allen and The Fray's cover of 'Heartless' is far better than his Auto-tune music.

Magnanimity

Marketed as 'Durable Performance', and it could barely last 5 minutes

Aren't we just fed up? We are just sick and tired of being cheated every time we read the news, walk about the streets or arrive on a blog (this blog) which rarely updates.

So we have a problem.

Would it be different if the shuttlecock did not carry the 'durability' tag? It would most probably make a difference, people would not have high hopes and might not purchase it in the first place. Oh, companies produce goods to be sold.

A simple solution to this problem is to not buy this product in the future. However, sometimes we don't have a choice don't we?

Locke argued for liberty from natural rights, Mill from Utilitarianism and Kant using metaphysics. We on the other hand, talk about liberty based on our common sense. Derogatory remarks against a particular race is commonplace within private discussions and sometimes even speeches by prominent figures.

People nowadays conveniently brand themselves as stalwart supporters of unity. People calling for fairness, equality and justice are nothing new to the most of us. Other than that, people who say one thing and do another is just too familiar.

The subject of racism often leads to discussions on the ISA and Sedition Act.

Why the need of oppressive laws? Thomas Hobbes writes:

Hereby it is manifest, that during the time men live without a common Power to keep them all in awe, they are in that condition which is called Warre; and such a warre, as is of every man, against every man.

It basically means that we must be forced to live in peace by an absolute power, else we will always be in a state of conflict.

A fascist was right?
